Shri Ashok Pradhan, Member of Parliament ...being felicited on Sunday

Former Union minister and Member of Parliament Mr Ashok Pradhan visited the mart and appreciated the effort of EPCH for conducting such a unparallel event.

While interacting with the media during his visit he appreciated EPCH for giving a platform even to grass root level artisans from across the country to showcase their piece of art under one roof. It has given a boost to the handicrafts and textile industry. In last 25th edition it has got recognition as Asia’s largest handicrafts and gifts fair.

This year IHGF has witnessed very focused & class buyers from across the world, who are quite satisfied at the gamut of products on display catering to a whole range of tastes with various designs & prices.

Speaking to the media Mr Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH highlights that this year we have focused on bio-degradable and eco- friendly products which are attracting a lot of attention. Many buyers have expressed their satisfaction at the specialized and segmented sections that is helping them in navigating the place easily. He also mentioned that this time the fair is going to generate nearly Rs1500 crore business, which is double the estimated amount.

An Indian exporter...in wait for foreign buyers? During the convesation with exhibitors parichowk.com team observed that ........Many of the companies participating in the exhibition were not happy to have shifted the venue from Pragati Maidan..they felt that owing to distance, lodging and boarding problems in Greater Noida...number of foreign buyers have reduced...some of them alleged that EPCH is not doing enough to attract the foreigners...some expporters felt that Rupee has become stronger.....and hence export has become costlier...that has also affected the flow of foreign buyers. .....

A foreign buyer .....deeply thinking about what to order?

Some of the exhibitors blamed India Expo Centre and Mart for unprofessional management of the mega event ...particularly for the food and bewerage arrangement, dirty lifts....and Rs 2000 salaried guards...who create havoc in the evening ...for closing the stalls..by making noise of whistles. Some stall owners claimed that owing to traffic jams at Amity Crossing...buyers had to wait for a longer time...hence they will not return....there is always a chaos at the entry gate....owing to traffic mis-management....
