Day 1

Bharat bandh..Noida Phase II Trade Union Workers resorting to violence

Trade Unions , mainly CITU/AITUC & CPIM have sponsored a Nationwide Bandh on 21st & 22nd of Feb. 2013 to press for the interests of the Labour Community. Their main demands include Revision in minimum wage to Rs.10,000/- , Abolition of contractual acts & Social security in General.

As understood , response to this has been overwhelming from Companies where they have their presence or those which are affiliated to Trade Unions or are registered with Labor Departments.
Their representatives are trying to woo workers for participation , wherever there is internal union or no Union activity.

Our surrounding industries are monitoring the situation & taking a call based on situation as would develop in their companies.

Have discussed this with DM a short while back & the feedback is very supportive. They will not let anyone disrupt any Organization business irrespective of their affiliations. Law & Order would be maintained at all costs.  Companies affiliated with Trade Unions can take their own call.

To-day's situation has been too bad with incidents of Traffic Jams / Lathi Charges & of Firing at places. Employees all across the industries / Organisations have faced an uphill task of making it to their Factories / Offices, even risking their Securities.

Having taken note of today's development & having appreciated Law enforcing agencies inability to tackle the situation , all Gurgaon Based Industries have decided to call it off for tomorrow that is 21st February 2013 .

All Schools in Greater Noida i.e.  DPS, Summer V. School etc will remain close.

Noida/Greater Noida Industries , though there has been no incident at Greater Noida , have raised their concern today with Commissioner and ADG Police at Thana Phase II Photographs enclosed.

To maintain Law & Order additional Para military forces have been pressed into Service & ADG Police / Commissioner / DM Gautam Budh Nagar / DIG , SSP Meerut , SSP Ghaziabad & Deputy Labour Commissioner Gautam Budh Nagar would be addressing a meeting of Industries representatives today's evening around 1800 Hrs at City Magistrate Office, Noida.
